At Orange County Jiu-Jitsu students are promoted based on their own personal progression. Criteria of which includes goals, age, and natural athletic abilities. For example a young 22 year old college wrestler will be held to a more strict standard for promotion because it is expected that they can progress to a very high level at a quick rate. Another example is that somebody who is older and family is the number one priority in their life will be graded by the amount they progressed from start date or promotion date. If they have shown progress and dedication regarding their own situation, they are a strong candidate for promotion.
Students are never pressured to compete against their desire at Orange County Jiu-Jitsu. However, our competition team is a very strong component of our program.
